Madge Butt Obituary

July 17, 1914 – Nov. 30, 2011 OKLAHOMA CITY Madge Elizabeth Butt, of Oklahoma City, passed away November 30, 2011 in Oklahoma City at the age of 97. She was born July 17, 1914 in Poteau, Oklahoma, to Walter Buckner and Rose Ramsey Robertson. She was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church for over 60 years, and a charter member of the Victory Class which later became known as the Chappell Class. She served as a Stephen’s Minister and was a member of United Methodist Women. Upon graduating from McAlester High School, she attended Hershey’s Business School and began work in Oklahoma City. She retired from Chemtron Corp. after 30 years and TG&Y Headquarters Advertising Dept. after 14 years. She married Leo Butt of McAlester on October 8, 1939. She was preceded in death by her mother; father; husband; sister, Mildred Guyer; and brother, Walter Robertson. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Robert Butt of Carmichael, California, his wife, Mary Karlene; and several nephews and nieces. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Luke’s United Methodist Church Foundation. Services will be held at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, Oklahoma City, on Monday, Dec. 5th, at 1 p.m., with interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Family will be receiving guests at Memorial Park Funeral home on Sunday, Dec. 4th, from 5-7 p.m.
